The Lion, the Trickster, and the Awakening Earth

The Lion, the Trickster, and the Awakening Earth

A Myth for the Full Moon in Leo – February 12th/13th 2025

In the ancient kingdom of Solara, where the skies glowed with gold and rivers echoed with timeless songs, there was a formidable Lion King named Lior. His mane sparkled like sunlight, and his roar could even unnerve the stars. Lior led with pride and passion, driven by a deep desire to be recognised, celebrated, and remembered. To him, acknowledgment was paramount—the cheers of his people, his name carved into history, and the adoration received from all parts of his realm.

Beyond Solara’s radiant borders lies the cool, distant realm of Aetheris, ruled by Aquila, the Trickster God of Winds and Minds. Aquila is quick and perceptive, always planning three steps ahead, his mind a maze of logic and invention. While Lior embraces passion, Aquila pursues truth. Lior's loud proclamations are replaced by Aquila's whispered secrets, aimed at shifting perspectives. Aquila has little patience for Lior’s fiery dramatics, considering them distractions from the collective good. For years, Fire and Air, Heart and Mind, Passion and Reason coexisted in a fragile balance. That balance, however, was broken on the night of the Full Moon in Leo.

As the full moon rose proudly in Leo, its silver glow cast a light over Lior’s kingdom, amplifying every emotion, desire, and need for validation. Solara’s inhabitants danced and celebrated beneath the moon, yet beneath their joy lay insecurities and hidden fears—doubts about their worth, their position in the world, and if their passions truly mattered. Meanwhile, in Aetheris, Aquila observed the festivities from a distance, a knowing smirk on his face. He perceived the vanity and chaos beneath Solara’s surface and decided it was time to challenge the Lion’s pride. With a flick of his wrist, Aquila dispatched Mercurius, his quick and clever messenger, to sow the winds of change.

Mercurius, the god of communication and trickery, flew to Solara and whispered into the ears of Lior’s subjects. His words were like honeyed poison, sweet but unsettling:

“Does the Lion truly see you, or just your applause?”

“Is this joy real, or just a performance?”

“Do you follow him because you believe in him—or because you fear his roar?”

These whispers spread like wildfire, igniting doubt and confusion in the people's hearts. They began to question their loyalty, their purpose, and even their own passions. Lior, sensing the unease, grew defensive and angry. His roars grew louder and more desperate, trying to drown out the voices of doubt.

But the more he roared, the more the people withdrew, realising that their adoration had become a cage, built on the fragile foundation of ego and illusion.

Just as tensions reached a boiling point, the Earth itself began to tremble. From the depths of the ground rose Uranis, the ancient, unpredictable Titan of Disruption. His body was forged from stone and lightning, his eyes glowing with the wild energy of change. Uranis had been silent for centuries, but now, drawn by the celestial chaos, he emerged to break what had become stagnant.

With a mighty crack of his stone fists, Uranis struck the land, sending shockwaves through both Solara and Aetheris. The T-square of energies was complete—the Moon’s emotional fire, the Sun and Mercury’s mental detachment, and Uranus’ chaotic force all clashed in a cosmic storm.

• In Solara, the illusion of grandeur that the people clung to shattered, revealing their dependence on external validation and the fragility of their confidence.

• In Aetheris, Aquila’s strict logic was broken by the Earth's unpredictability. He understood that knowledge devoid of emotion was as hollow as passion lacking purpose.

Both kingdoms were left deeply unsettled, compelled to face uncomfortable truths hidden beneath pride, reason, and mislaid security.

The Moral Revelation:

Rebuilding from the Ashes

As the dust settled, Lior the Lion stood among the ruins of his once-glorious kingdom. His mane, though faded, still faintly gleamed in the moonlight. He realised that true strength comes not from being worshipped but from being authentic, even when no one is watching. His roar softened into a voice that encouraged others to find their own courage, rather than seeking applause.

In Aetheris, Aquila reflected on the chaos. He understood that wisdom without compassion can be just as dangerous as passion without guidance. He began to incorporate emotion into his intellect, recognising that truth and compassion must go hand in hand.

Uranis, the Earth-Shaker, receded into sleep, aware that his task was completed—for now. This myth illustrates how the Full Moon in Leo, facing a T-square with the Sun, Mercury, and Uranus, urges us to find harmony between pride and authenticity, logic and emotion, stability and change. When our lives rest on ego or false beliefs, the universe will jolt us awake, often in unforeseen ways. Like Lior and Aquila, we need to learn to unite our hearts and minds, gain strength from authenticity over appearances, and welcome change instead of fearing it. While disruptions may seem daunting, they serve as the crucibles that forge our truest selves. Towers may crumble, but from the debris, new, stronger foundations can emerge.
